Waterville Gym
Skowhegan gym | Augusta Gym

Starting September 3rd, Decal's classes will only be held in Skowhegan and Augusta. We will no longer offer classes in Waterville. Please read below for a press release of our exciting new venture!

We have some exciting changes for Fall 2018! As with changes there will be some pain. It is with a HEAVY HEART that I have to say we will no longer operate a program within the Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA at the Alfond Youth Center. This is all REALLY a good thing in the long run, they have to be able to expand to be able to meet their growing needs..... and we have grown too big that we NEED TO BUILD OUR OWN GYM IN WATERVILLE!!

But as I said before.... in the beginning it’s going to be hard as the gym is going to take close to a year to build. SO FOR THE 2018/19 SCHOOL YEAR we will only be operating out of our Skowhegan and Augusta Maine-ly Gymnastics locations. I understand this is going to be inconvenient, but PLEASE remember that this is only for a year. We hope you will come to one of the other gyms, It will still be the same AMAZING STAFF!! Thanks for all your POSITIVE SUPPORT!!

DECAL GYMNASTICS Expands to meet Demand
The Waterville based programs move to Augusta and Skowhegan for 2018-19

After August 23, 2018, Decal Gymnastics will move into their next phase of providing the highest quality gymnastics instruction and competition in the Central Maine Area.  For the next year, Decal Gymnastics will not be operating a program within the heart of the Alfond Youth Center and their operations for the 2018/19 school year will only be in their Skowhegan and Augusta locations.  This is all in preparation for Decal Gymnastics NEW Facility which will be opening sometime in 2019 in the Waterville Area.

Decal Gymnastics has been in operation for the past 28 years. 18 of them at the Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville at the Alfond Youth Center, Carol Hamilton-Brewer always took the organization’s core values to heart.  “I believe in giving kids a positive sports experience, I believe in teaching sportsmanship, and that a good work ethic will get kids far not only in sports… but in life.  The YMCA philosophy is imbedded in our structure and we are forever grateful for all we have learned.”

As Decal Gymnastics programs continue to grow both in numbers as well as recognition at the regional, state and national levels, Hamilton-Brewer finds it necessary to expand her capacity. “Carol has been an amazing member of our community for as long as I’ve been CEO,” states Ken Walsh, AYC CEO.  “We’ll miss her bright and supportive energies in our hallways but Decal will still be a big part of the Center.”

“We will continue our relationship with the Y through Gym rentals and of course Camp Tracy,” reports Carol; “this is a relationship we are committed to maintaining.”  With growth looming large for both entities, the new wellness center addition for the AYC and Hamilton-Brewer’s independently run Decal Gymnastics locales, both programs need room to expand and feel this is a win win for the Waterville community.
